Allosaurus fragilis by ZeWqt Allosaurus fragilis by ZeWqt

"An Allosaurus is a bipedal carnivore, that means it eats flesh on its two legs."
Excuse the quote from Paraworld... I couldn't resist.
In short... Allosaurus is a Theropod Dinosaur from the end of the Late Jurassic who was present in North America, Africa and Europe. With a length of about 9 meters for 1,5 or 2 tons, this large predator was a very common carnivore, many specimens of A. fragilis were found in the Morrison Formation, in North America (I precise for two ones sleeping in the bottom of the room). This Dinosaur has sharp serrated teeth, strong clawed forearm and powerful hind legs, however biomechanical studies have shown that it had very weak jaws for an animal of that size. But these jaws were highly mobile, with a skull able to absorb shocks and powerful neck muscles, it has been theorized it used its neck muscles to smash the sharp teeth of its upper jaw in its prey, leaving a gaping wound when it threw its head back.
It was certainly an effective predator, but it was perhaps not an apex predator, it shared its environment with other Theropods, bigger and as well armed, like Torvosaurus or Saurophaganax (if it is not an Allosaurus). To avoid too much competition with other predators, it probably occupied a different ecological niche and lived in another environment.

Probably one of the most colourful Allosaurus I've ever seen, but depicted in a quite realistic way. I love it!

Merci! :D

Even if Allosaurus is not my favorite Dino (my favorite one is the T. rex... how original...) I like it a lot, and I see that you are a huge Allo fan! :)
Thank you by the way! :D

Nice job!  The pattern reminds me of the WWD Allosaurus.

Thank you! I guess it is the black line on the head and the red crest are responsible of this ressemblance! :)

Definitely.  The stripes are a bit like the WWD Allosaurus too, albeit a greater number of them.
